registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available
for experienced Registered Nurses skilled in step-down care to
contribute to a specialized 10-bed progressive care unit focused on
complex neurological and surgical patients. This contract position
offers a 36-hour per week day/night rotation schedule in a facility
recognized as a primary stroke center and known for advanced
neuromuscular and neurosurgical treatments. Responsibilities
include proficient management of patients with neuromuscular
disorders, meningitis, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries,
and post-operative care for tumor resections and spinal surgeries.
You will provide care for patients participating in Normal Pressure
Hydrocephalus trials involving lumbar drains and manage advanced
monitoring devices including arterial lines, ventriculostomies,
subdural, and lumbar drains. The role requires expertise in
hemodynamic and invasive blood pressure monitoring, ventilator
management for tracheostomy patients using Bi-PAP/C-PAP, and
administration of low-dose pressors, vasoactive medications,
Mannitol, and hypertonic saline. Desired Experience: Proven ability
in hemodynamic monitoring and invasive BP monitoring via arterial
lines Skilled in ventilator support including Trach C-PAP patients
Experience managing complex wounds and various lines, tubes, and
drains post-surgery Familiarity with vasoactive drugs and inotropic
agents Knowledge of neurological drain systems such as
ventriculostomies, subdural, and lumbar drains Comfort with low
dose pressors and hyperosmolar therapies (Mannitol, 3%) Location:
