Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in
the tri-state area, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy
Technician II to join our team. This position will support our
commitment to providing top-tier healthcare, by ensuring the
accurate preparation and distribution of medications and providing
exceptional care to our patients. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you
will work in a dynamic environment alongside a team of
professionals focused on improving patient outcomes through
effective medication management. Accurately prepare and dispense
medication orders per physician request according to established
policies, procedures, and protocols. Verify medication orders with
healthcare professionals and clarify any discrepancies. Manage
inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining a safe and
clean pharmacy environment. Assist pharmacists in the preparation
of medications for dispensing. Process prescriptions electronically
and ensure proper storage of drugs. Provide exceptional customer
service to patients by addressing questions and concerns with
professionalism. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure
compliance with all regulatory requirements. Proficiency in using
electronic health records and pharmacy information systems. Strong
attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and
customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced
environment. Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, pharmacy
calculations, and drug use Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Pharmacy Technician
(CPhT) certification required. Registered with the State Board of
Pharmacy.
