Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Stepdown RN – Virginia Start Date: February 23, 2026 Location: Arlington, Virginia Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, day shift, every other weekend required Highlights: 13-week assignment caring for post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU 4:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams 21-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in post-operative cardiac care Epic EMR system; training provided based on experience level (accelerated or 2-day class) Robust case mix including chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drips, and post-surgical monitoring 24 hours of orientation with dedicated training team support Requirements: Active Virginia RN license or Compact license in hand at time of application BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience in cardiovascular stepdown or telemetry Strong cardiac telemetry skills with proven experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients and continuous cardiac monitoring Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and charge experience preferred COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered); flu vaccination required during flu season Why It's a Great Opportunity: This cardiovascular stepdown position offers the chance to work with a specialized patient population in a well-supported environment.
